Comida Mexicana por primera vez!

You must be thinking why the title to this post is written in Spanish.

When translated to English, it means “Mexican food for the First Time”. (Well, if I got it wrong, blame it on Google Translate)

Personally, I’ve never tried Mexican food before. I mean, hey, I love my Bak Chor Mee, Kway Chap, Chicken Rice and Prata. I seldom will try fancy, non-local food. Okay, with the exception of Japanese, Western and Korean food.

It was Michelle’s birthday on the 2nd of May. After KTV with Peish, Charmz and Yapz, Mich, Yapz and I travelled down to Clarke Quay to meet the rest (Viv, Clar, Nic and Wanz) at this Mexican bar called “Seรฑor Taco”.

We took the menu, and I stared at it and was at a perplex state of mind almost instantly.

There was hardly a dish that I recognised. Because, since this was the first time that I was inside a Mexican restaurant. I felt out of place – being introduced to a culture that is so stranger to me. Hence, like what I always do, I left the decision making process for the rest to worry about.

I just sat there and stare at the rest of the girls.

Well, I love to do the easy stuff.

It didn’t take long before the food were being served.

Apparently, one should never trust the photo above. We ordered more than these nachos. We’ve even got some tacos, some chicken wings and etc. (Look, I can’t even remember what we got in the end. All I could remember is that the food filled up any available capacity of the two round tables that we were occupying.
We ate, talk and watching people doing some sort of line dancing.
I left a random statement, “Guys, I felt like I am in a club. Community Club.”
After eating, we wanted to take some photos together and with our birthday girl. We tried to take along the river side but realised that the quality of the photo is rather pathetic. Nic suggested that we should take them inside Central – the shopping mall nearby.

Is it 7 princesses? HAHAHA

That’s it for now! Not sure when I will post my next blog post again because you know, semester is starting and I am on the verge of dying – I know it rhymes. Okay I won’t die because there are people like these girls who will always make me realised how blessed I am. Geez.

Thank You For My 19th

This year marks my 19th year alive in this world.

I have nothing much to wish for but for the solidarity among my friends and that our friendships will remain forever.

I would like to dedicate this post to all my friends who have made my birthday a memorable one. Thank God for all of you.

Let’s start with 21st October, 3 days before my actual birthday.
Location: Ngee Ann Poly.

This will be the first time this group of people will celebrate my birthday.
They’ve been with me for the past one year, going through all the shits together. I really feel thankful for this bunch of people, at least they make me feel that I’ve a emotional support base for the rest of my Poly life.

Since Peiyi was born like 1 day after me, we celebrated our birthdays together.

Haven’t really tried celebrating my birthday with other people’s birthday all-in-one before, it feel kind of special. You know, it’s not easy to find people whose birthday is just one day apart from yours.

I finally had my first taste of Mookata on the day of my 19th birthday.

Nicole and Wanz booked me for lunch on that Friday and initially, Nicole was asking me what I wanted to have. I had totally no clue, actually to me, food doesn’t really matter but the company, the people I am having my meal with. Nevertheless, we decided on having mookata at VivoCity.

Apparently I was late and I had no idea how I was late. Oops.

The moment when I walked into the restaurant, I saw another familiar face apart from the two girls. Yap Qi made her special appearance! Hahaha!

The food appears shortly after I’ve arrived and WOW! Those things looked good!

Upon my request earlier the week, Nic decided to bring me for bingsoo after lunch. And then, we head down to Vivo’s McDonald’s first and there… RATNA! She was in the mist of doing her Law assignment when we appeared. I was so shocked you know? I haven’t seen her for so long and she actually got a cake for me! After which, the three of us head down to the bingsoo cafe in Chinatown on the recommendation of Nic.

Cafe Insa-Dong is a bingsoo cafe located within the Chinatown district. Just a few minutes of walk from the Chinatown MRT station, to be exact, it is located somewhere along the shophouses opposite of the famous Sri Mariamman Temple.

The elegant interior left me stunned when I first stepped into the shop. Some of the artworks will definitely catches your attention. And fyi, these artworks are not merely just for decoration, if you like it, you can also buy it back by paying the price stated.

So it’s somewhat like a cafe within a art gallery, or vice-versa.

The three of us decided to get a Green Tea Bingsoo and Injeolmi with Ice-Cream to share among ourselves.  AND THANKS NIC FOR THE TREAT!

It doesn’t take long enough for our dessert to be ready. It is self-service but you can never fail to see the smiles from the faces of the employees there.

This would be my 2nd time eating bingsoo, and first with a group of friends.

Nic and I kept spamming pictures while Ratna was like sitting there trying to wait for us to finish with phototaking. Thanks Rat for always be so patient with our nonsense hahaha!

Finally it’s time for us to really enjoy the food, we enjoyed. The bingsoo was the bomb! We really had fun chatting and eating nice dessert at the same time! ๐Ÿ™‚

2 years of friendship and going!
24 October.
Location: The lift lobby at my void deck.
This was the most ridiculous celebration of them all.
The most epic and the most fun one.
After a tiring day of filming since 10am, I decided to have dinner at VivoCity with my team: Huiqi and Jon. However, Adam had booked me for dinner that evening so I was like telling him why not join us at Vivo? However, he told me that he had already reached Ang Mo Kio and I was like just come down, Huiqi and Jon had told their family not to prepare dinner for them and I would be a freaking ass if I were to leave them to their own.
And there, he came down to Vivo and of course the four of us had our dinner together.
Then, I went home with Adam. He decided to come by my place to chat for awhile. Of course, I welcomed him.
The moment we reached the lift lobby of my flat, the moment just before I stepped into the lift…

While I went to clean myself up, the rest of us went to clean up the lift. It looked like we are all doing some sort of Corrective Work Order (CWO). And I swear that when we took the lift again, it smelt like Starbucks.

It’s time to cut the cake. I am lucky that this is not the thing on my face. HEHE

But THANK YOU GUYS! Yall love to give me surprises every now and then uh! I really didn’t see this coming!

Now, as I embarked on my 19th year in this planet, this world, may peace and enlightenment befalls upon me. This year will be a better year for me and within the next one year, I will become a better person.

For The Past 3 Months (Part 2)

Last days of 2014 were spent with some of my favourite people! 2014 started with a blast and it ended with a blast. A series of blasts to be exact. 
The final birthday celebration of the year.
It’s Yap Qi’s birthday. The last birthday I attended and celebrated last year (I mean, it’s already the last day of the year). 
We decided to give Yap a surprise at her house on that very eventful afternoon. While Vivian, Dominique and Ashley got Yap out of her house for lunch, the rest of us visited her house, of course with the help of her mother, in order to do up some birthday decorations in her living room.
Early that morning, the few of us were to meet at Parkway Parade to get the decos before heading to Yap’s house. I met Kheng Yin on the bus, not coincidentally because we decided to go down together since we were be taking the same bus. 
We thought we were late.
But we ended up being the first two to reach the destination.
Of course, we couldn’t be able to do it without some trolling done. Nicole they all were early but decided to stop at Paya Lebar MRT Station to get some sushi because we told them we would be very late. Nic sent me a roll-eye emoji while Kheng and I laughed it off.
Actually, they were also waiting for Wanz. Who is forever late. :’)
The moment we reached Parkway, Kheng and I took a selfie, sent it to them and to complete the troll. The rest, well, were still at Paya Lebar.
So the two of us went around trying to find some decors in Daiso and the supermarket opposite which I can’t remember which company that belongs to. In the end, we still had no idea on what to buy and we just walked around while waiting for the rest to arrive.
Nic, Peishan, Michelle and Wanlin arrived not-that-shortly.
We shopped around and we eventually get whatever you will see on the wall in the picture below.
I mean, later.
Lunch and we found ourselves on our way to the Yap’s residence.
With some help from Yap’s mum, we were on the mission to decorate their walls. Okay, some did the wall deco, some blew tons of balloons (I swear there were like 60 over balloons!)
Thank God for the girls, it could have been a design disaster if I were to be fully in charge of the wall. Mich was like the architect of the entire decoration, Kheng the supporting crew. And I was like the construction worker.
With much efforts, the decors were up and so were the balloons. I seriously wonder where did Nic, Peish and Wanz found so much air to blow the balloons yet having enough to supply their haemoglobin with. I could have died of lack of oxygen.
What happen next, were one of the boring periods in life. Everything was done and we were all waiting for our lead female to appear.
An hour past.
David arrived. And we were all trying to touch his just-shaven hair.
A few minutes past.
And funny things started to happen.
Alright. Ignore the plural.
The decorations started coming off one by one. The scotch tape isn’t helping at all. We all became a group of maintenance crews trying to save the entire art piece from falling apart. We were all praying hard that Yap and the rest would return home before everything fell apart.
It went to the extend that Mich was to sit and sleep on a chair just below the decorations so that she’s able to save the piece.
We tried before we eventually gave up.
It took a while before all of them returned.
When we received the intel, we got ready behind the door, under the windows. And as Yap approached her house, we were all in standby mode, with cake and poppers on our hands.
Following the sound of Yap unlocking her house door and pulling the handle, the door moved adjacently. In a count of three, of course silently, we appeared from nowhere into within the visibility of Yap’s vision.
She was taken aback but before she could recover, we continued popping the party poppers and singing birthday song.
And then we proceed to taking photos.

I kind of like this photo because it’s just so nice. Ok. I can’t think of any vocabularies to put them in place.

We had some drinks and cakes before we packed up and leave. By that time, the decors were all over the floor.
Some of us decided to had dinner together before heading home or for some countdown party.
I don’t know why this photo is making me feeling hungry right now.
We parted after the meal. Kheng and I took the same train back and guess who we met as we boarded the train at Bedok?

And of course, me being myself, I wouldn’t let them off without a selfie before Kheng Yin parted with us at Paya Lebar MRT Station.


Counting Down To a Sparkled New Year.
31.12.14 – 1.1.15

I was supposed to celebrate New Year alone – that means to stay up late, camping in front of the television set with the ‘live’ telecast of the SG50 countdown happening at Marina Bay Floating Platform waiting for the countdown to start once the clock read 23:59:50hrs and afterwards, counting down to the new year alone in the empty living room with no one around.


Oh yeah. Not to mention to open a bottle of cider for the joyous occasion: Another year being alone.

I was at NTUC Fairprice before I recalled this event I saw on the notice board below my block of flat few days ago.

And hence, I thought to myself, I ain’t going to spend my countdown moments alone this time round. Junwei was free that evening so I got him down. I managed to convince Rebecca to join us since she was nearby at Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery with her family. Peiyi, well, she was lazy to head out again after being out till late EVEN THE VENUE IS SO NEAR TO HER HOUSE.

I grabbed some alcoholic drinks, a box of 4 bottles to be exact and some sparkles before heading home to get myself prepared for my first ever countdown event and ‘live’ New Year Day’s fireworks. Junwei came to lepak at my house before we set off, on foot, to Ang Mo Kio-Bishan Park.

Rebecca was already at the McDonald’s outlet in the park way before we reached there, with her brother, queuing up for some supper. The entire venue was filled to the rafters, let alone the only place where food was available that night. The swarming crowd crammed the inside-out of the fast food restaurant. I felt like as if I were to be mobbed by the overwhelming crowd anytime. Junwei and I had to make an arduous effort figuring out how we were going to elbow our way through the teeming park to get to the other end where the restaurant was located.

We succeeded, of course.

I found an ideal sitting spot near to the stream, in front of MacDonald’s. We had to crawl beneath a bridge in order to reach that spot since people were sitting around the area.

We sat there while waiting for Rebecca and her brother to finish with their purchase. Once they were done, they joined us and as I introduced Junwei to her, she introduced her brother Romulus to us. Not long before the moment came. We were seconds to the new year.

As excited as we could be, we geared our vocal cords in preparation for some vehement shoutings.

“10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!”


The new year befalls upon us in an instance.
So did the fireworks lighting up the night sky with prismatic colours.
Everyone was awed by the astounding display.

And how is fireworks enough? I had brought the sparkles I bought earlier on down and Reb was like judging me.

I unwrapped the box and took out two sparkles and lighted them up, pressuring the other two to do the same. I mean, it would be boring and meaningless if I were to have my own fun alone.

After the last sparkle went off, we returned to my house, on feet again, for some Vodka Cruiser. I should stop leading people astray with alcoholic drinks. But at least this tasted like some fuzzy drinks instead.
Junwei and I somehow finished the entire 4 bottles of drinks between us with Reb drinking only some sips of it.
We, actually me particularly, were afraid that she would go too high with just a little bit of alcohol. She was fine, ‘finer’ than I expected. Her dad came to fetch her on his motorcycle at 1.30am from my house. We sent her down and saw her off before heading back. 
Junwei decided to stay over for the night and up till now I am still wondering how he was able to game till the entire dawn of the morning while I KO-ed halfway.

That’s one big gamer for you.

EC is 18 Series (4): Drinking On The Top Of The World

I am so sorry that this post is long overdue.
Close to a month overdue to be exact.
I was really busy ever since the end of VOX2014 (Yea, this New Media workshop hosted by my course for those Secondary school kids).
26 October. (I swear that’s so damn freaking long ago, but how did I feel like it was just last week…)
Adam Oh jio-ed me to go drink after I’ve been declared legal on the twenty-third day of October. He suggested this place on top of Raffles Place. Well, that’s pretty cool since I’ve never been to any attraction that allows me to view the night scenery of this beautiful island.
At least not in my memory.
We arrived at 1-Altitude after meeting at City Hall to take a train down.

We took no less than 5 minutes to locate this place because it is just in front of Raffles Place MRT Station. 
And of course, the decoration outside looked damn over and noticeable.
I guess we were quite lucky that our visit to the bar coincided with their Halloween’s weekend celebration. 
And everyone’s (I am referring to the staffs there) dressed up in fancy dress that were almost enough to make them look like something that just came out of Area 51. They looked horrifying yet hilarious (I ain’t sure how these two adjectives are going to mix together but well, get my point).
We were originally afraid of the age limit because we realised that 18 wasn’t the magical number this time. For guys, the minimum age is stated as 25 on their website. 
Two-time lucky for us. The age limit only applicable after 10pm.
We ordered our drinks at the counter before heading up to Level 62.   

We got lost for a while before realising that we’ve still had to up one level to the rooftop. 
Through a separate elevator.

And here, we are. The highest level of One Raffles Place.

The moment we stepped out of the place, I found it er… quite dark (I mean, obviously right?). The kind of dark was like something I’ve only seen on TV, especially TVB dramas when they always feature a group of men heading to some random pub for some men’s time. 
But I took another look at the surrounding. It was amazing to be frank. The lightings were just nice, adequate to make this place seems rather dim yet visible for careful movement. The set-up was just… well… high-class (Well, that’s why it’s located so HIGH up right?)
As we were trying to find our way around…

This is probably the best night view of Singapore city since I tried to take a glimpse of it from the Level 11 of the National Library Building (NLB). Mesmerising. Breath-taking. Bewitched. Ensorcelled. I don’t thing a spam of sophisticated English vocabularies can fully describe the scene right in front of me.
I need some time to breathe.
But I decided not to take in so much air thanks to the moderate level PSI threatening my ever-weak respiratory system.
We didn’t get to find any seat because they were all fully booked.
But that ain’t going to bother us since there were tables around and we could just stand beside them.
Time to get our drinks.
We were entitled to two drinks for the night. One was some Halloween special. And one was whatever we want from the menu provided.

Of course, we decided to introduce some Halloween special mix to our taste buds.

Swee lah.

Although I still don’t know what kinds of alcohol were being mixed but it tasted nice. C’est merveilleux!
We drank it slowly while admiring the scenery of the city skyline.

We stayed around till it was near 10PM, the time when age limit will be implemented. But before we depart, we realised it would be a sin not to take pictures with the deco.

I am sorry not able to update this post a bit earlier because of my busy schedule but there you go, the entire post as a tribute to you! KAMSIAHAMNIDA! When we both free again, we go ๆทท again. Just YOLO only.

EC is 18 Series (3): The Xclusive

23 October. Afternoon.

I was supposed to meet them at 2.45PM. I ended up leaving my house late and arriving slightly later. At least, I was not THAT late, I guess. I reached at quite a few minutes after 3PM and they were just about to finish their payments at the counter of Kbox in Cineleisure.

I think I’ve been singing too much this birthday.

But I am glad I was able to do what I love most on this special occasion.

I am truly thankful for Dallies, Crystal and Zeliang to specially celebrate this wonderful day with me, at Kbox! And guess what they got me? A sweater from one of my favourite clothing retail store, H&M! I heard they had chosen quite long of the suitable clothing for me because they are in doubt of what I like. But hey! Don’t be afraid of choosing presents for me because I treasure and love everything people give it to me!

That’s a reason why I don’t request for any specific presents because it’s all down to the heart and no one in this world actually owes you anything.

The sweater was indeed sexy.

By sexy, it means that it looks fashionable enough (Well, you’ve always have to trust their taste) when I wore it to lesson the following day. It fits me just nice and makes me looked like a professor.

Kbox was fun for a start until the touch screen thing decided to hand on us and the staff had to restart the thing and Dallies was like complaining about the time wasted (oops). Of course, the problem was solved within a few moments and we began singing like it’s our concert.

I still feel bad to hog the mic for most of the time. SORRY!!!

And this Crystal, fulfilling her promise by singing the song ็…Ž็†ฌ by ๆŽไฝณ่–‡ (Li Jiawei, definitely not the ex-national table tennis player) IN THE ORIGINAL KEY. Which is still giving goosebumps till today whenever I thought about it (And that’s actually a good thing though).

In contrast, Zeliang and I singing a duet together was a disaster in the making. Especially when we tried to sing the female’s part. It was gay. But I think we did not bad singing ๆณกๆฒซ by ้„ง็ดซๆฃ‹ (G.E.M), despite us trying to sing at the top of our voices like we were drunkards. The girls gave us the ‘dafaq’ look.

2 hours of KTV was never enough but too bad, we had to go. Haha! We went to walk around Cineleisure before heading down to the *Scape next door. Which I was rather amused by the Halloween’s decoration there. I swear I would scare to death if it was at night. It was damn freaking real.

Anyway, we decided to take a photo there and managed to get two pretty ladies to help us take it. (The photo is above, in case you are wondering) I swear Zeliang looked like a robot in the picture. HAHAHAHA :’D

Before I end this post, I would like to use this chance to thank you guys again for going to KTV with me on my birthday. Thank you so much! Hope we will continue to build on to this friendship in the next 2.5 years in CMC and of course more years further down the road! I may be an asshole or even fierce to some of yall or even being very direct but remember, that’s because I treasure this friendship! HAHAHA. Okay! I will definitely wear the sweater more often, and hopefully with a white-based shirt. HEHE! LOVE YALL!

EC is 18 Series (2): Because We Are Sisters For Life

23 October. Morning.
I’ve been waiting for this day for all these while. On this very day, I finally turned 18. 18, is a really special number for teenagers like us. After 23 October, I can consider myself to have achieve some sort of ‘self-governance’.
I’ve woke up so much early that morning to well wishes appearing on my phone. I don’t know. I just couldn’t sleep since the previous night. I slept at 1AM and woke up at 7AM. The day is just too precious for me to waste it on sleeping. I know, I need to make this day count.
To make this day more special, my favourite bitch Nicole See had booked me a couple of weeks ago because I need to return her the DSLR I borrowed from her previously (Er… Which was like back in June, remember the time when we watched ‘The Fault In Our Stars’?) Initially, I was supposed to meet up with her to pass her the camera on the Thursday of the previous week. Then, after knowing that I don’t have lessons on Thursdays (coincidentally she also doesn’t have lessons on Thursdays too), she suggested to collect it from me ‘next Thursday’.
I need to admit I almost wanted to book the ticket to the WTA tennis match on the afternoon of 23 October before she messaged me that.
Of course, it would definitely be great and more memorable if I were to spend my birthday with this bitch (and of course I expected more of them to come :P) than to spend the day sitting alone in the se of unfamiliar faces at the back of the Singapore Indoor Stadium watching Serena Williams or Caroline Wozniacki playing.
Hence, I agreed to meet her on the 23rd.
Waking up at 7AM naturally and not feeling like going back to the warmth of my bed is a miracle. That explained how excited I was for the day. I even went to get my breakfast early and came home to clean up the house before Nicole came. (You see the effort I put for your first visit, Nic? HAHAHA)
Then that bitch come and tell me she’s going to be late. HAHAHAHAHA So I made use of the time to set up my studio equipment (since Nicole wanted to play with it) and to rest.
I was about to fall asleep on my bed when the door bell rang.
I just realised people love to arrive at my doorstep when I am in the not-very-good condition. HAHA! I leaped out of my bed, trying to balance between sleepiness and excitement. I got to the door, of course to open it, I mean you don’t say.
Then, I saw not one, but three familiar faces. I was shocked and then moments later, I heard the birthday song ringing round my ears.
Nicole. Peishan. Michelle.

OMG. They all came, with this little home-made mango cheesecake made specially for me by Nicole. AWWW~~~ <3

Nicole just came over and hug me tightly once she stepped into the house, and then again when during the individual shoot. So sweet of her eh!

Mich brought her guitar along that day because Peishan and her are heading to Ms Ong (their History’s lecturer’s house for Waffle party after that). And so, they decided to play some songs over at my house.
And that’s the start of madness.
All of us turned into portable MP3 players once we stepped into the recording ‘studio’ (Just my study where I set up my recording equipments uh).
Actually not MP3 players, but we became like a band.

And then everything became karaoke session, with Michelle playing on her guitar, of course we do take music from youtube though, for some songs.

While halfway through our madness, Charmaine came to join us (I think after her tuition or taking care of her nephew?) I think she took cab to AMK MRT Station before getting lost finding her way to my estate. She called us and the entire episode was rather hilarious. I suck at giving direction but I tried okay, I tried. HAHAHA

She was clever enough to get what I tried to mean and eventually got to my house…

And to join the madness.

And of course, I did get my share of fun! ๐Ÿ™‚
I really need to thank Peishan (I AM GIVING YOU CREDIT, PEISH!) for most of the very nice photos you all are seeing right now. And that I even don’t hesitate to not edit the pictures on Photoshop before posting them with this blog post.

Before I end this post, I want to just tell you girls (if you are reading this) that,

You all make me feel so fortunate and blessed to have yall in my life. JC might be a mistake for me but it gave me a chance to get to know such sweet and thoughtful angels. It’s blessing in disguise. Thank yall for coming to celebrate one of my most important birthdays in my life, making it memorable and at the same time, one of the best birthdays. For those who didn’t make it today, Elyssa, Wanlin and Yap Qi, I feel your love too HAHAHA! I will continue to work hard towards my goals with everyone’s blessing and hope that yall also know that yall will have my blessing and support in whatever you do. I love all of you and since ‘love’ is a strong word, I mean what I say. I will treasure these friendships and we still have a long way to go, because we are sisters for life!

All the best to those taking A’ Levels in a few days time. Always believe in yourselves! Those not taking A’ Levels, all the best in whatever you do! Take necessary rest when you need to and to over-stress yourselves! LOVEYA! <3

EC Is 18 Series (1): All Came Crashing In

I am going to just post all my birthday celebrations in a series, with different posts dedicating to the different groups of friends who specially came and celebrate my birthday with me!
23 October, one of the days in the year that I’ll always look forward. Although I keep saying that it is just a birthday and there’s no much difference compared to other normal days…
But, as the day is near, I realised I kind of treasure this day a lot. Maybe, especially this year. Not sure why, maybe it’s because I had received quite a number of surprises last year and I kind of looking forward to more surprises this year. HAHAHA Receiving surprises on/near your birthday is really really pleasant and looking forward to one is like one of the best feelings in this world. I mean, anticipating someone somehow someday will appear with a card or anything in front of you and wish you on the occasion feels so blessed and fortunate. And it’s especially memorable if they are people whom you love.
This year, it will be the 18th year I ‘landed on’ this planet. It is a landmark. I always think that 18th, 21st, 40th, 50th and 60th birthday are a landmark. Well…
18 Y.O.: You are regarded as partially legal, at least you are of driving and drinking age. But at the same time, you become liable to the law (Not saying those under 18 year-olds can get away with crime but they are punished less severely. I mean hey, if someone were to throw a packet of 500g cannabis into my bag right now and I was caught somehow by the police, I will be in the queue to meet Hades for some tea session. I am sure I don’t want to wrap my neck around with a noose). 
21 Y.O.: Legal voting age. That means if the General Election were to held at the end of 2017 (which is constitutionally impossible), I would be able to cast my vote. At the same time, I could also make it in time to run as an independent candidate in the election. But too bad, I would probably have to wait till at least 2021, the following GE.
40 Y.O.: It’s an indication that you are going into middle age. There’s this saying which goes: 

At forty, life starts.

Which, to many local comedians, especially Kumar, it’s one nonsensical saying. It’s more like ‘At forty, life starts… to end’, which is practically proven by scientist back in 2000. I am not sure how it actually feels like in mid-life crisis. I heard it’s not really pleasant. I am not so sure, I am still young right now and I just want to stay young. HAHAHA.

50 Y.O.: Half a century being alive. Taking a random road trip down the places you used to go when you are young. I bet you can hardly recognised most of the new places. 50 Years Old. It’s an entrance to more mid-life crisis. Maybe not, it is an entrance towards old age. It’s probably the last few years to do get fully prepared for old age.

60 Y.O.: It’s a step closer towards CPF withdrawal age. Yes, we have to wait till THAT old to be able to take out the money we spend more than half of our life earning out. 65 Years Old, to be exact. Why didn’t I choose 65Y.O. as a landmark because we Chinese takes 60 years old as a very important age to reach. I am not sure why but because I see all those periodic dramas and every person who hit 60 tend to have a very grand birthday celebration…

Enough of all the long paragraphs. HAHA. I bet most of you are going to fall asleep or even wanting to click the ‘back’ button right now.

Now let’s go all the way back to my first birthday celebration of my 18th birthday.

Junwei came to crash my house on Sunday. Well, he was supposed to crash my house on Saturday too, but I was busy with the SG50 Gift of the Song recording through the weekend. Yeah, it was rather last minute because the deadline was on Sunday, 2359hrs.

Speaking of ‘The Gift of Song’, I managed to persuade Chen Yu to enter our creation for this competition which ‘invites Singaporeans and Permanent Residents to write a song that will resonate with the nation’. With great confidence in Chen Yu’s composition skills and, er, my poetic touch (not sure I should really trust myself but well…), we are entering this competition looking forward in being the top 3 finalist. Hmm…

Coming back to the topic, Junwei arrived at my house at 4PM, ringing the doorbell which awoken me from my after-lunch sleep. Er, yea, not a nap, but in-fact my motive was just to sleep. I was really tired after work that day so all I want is just er… SLEEP.


I know I sound like a pig trying to sleep right after my lunch but… I can’t reiterate that much that I was really tired. I walked out of my room like a zombie, a lazy one who didn’t even bother to take any human’s life.

I let Junwei in, he went into my study and I took the opposite direction — into my bedroom.

Poor Junwei had to emo in my study, engrossed in his thick booklet of H2 Economics paper while I snuggle into my pillow and bed sheet.

Of course, I felt guilty leaving my guest alone in a room he’s rather familiar with. I grab my Macbook from beneath my bed, and joined him in the study.

He sat at the table, I lied straight on that bloody cold yet comfortable marble tiles.

“The table is here for a reason.” He threw the few words at me.

“I want to sleep.” I yawned.

He continued to immerse himself into the deep sea of Econs knowledge. I started typing away on my Macbook.

I was trying to do my final editing for the recordings and to fill up the online form… So I needed Chen Yu’s help in that and then, I whatsapp-ed him.

I feel that there’s something weird about the conversation. Especially the one with the wink emoji. HAHAHA!
To be honest, I still wasn’t suspicious of anything. Probably due to the reason that I was in serious fatigue.
But of course, I was anticipating them to come soon since the start of the weekend. Sorry peeps, I was really looking forward to you all coming to my house to surprise me. Oops ๐Ÿ˜€
Towards the evening, Junwei told me he’s going to the toilet and even asked me if he could use the toilet.
For the first time, he asked. Okay, that’s according to my ailing memory.
In just a few seconds after he returned from the toilet, my doorbell rang. I turned to look at him and gave him a smerk. I took quite a while to open the door because I am also very nervous uh. My legs were trembling, not sure it’s because of the stretching that I was doing earlier on or what.
I looked through the door hole but it was blocked, apparently on purpose. :’D
I knew it, so I took a glance at Junwei who was standing right behind me, and I decided to be an asshole and tried to ‘counter-surprise’ them. So, I opened the door and…
I shouted ‘HELLO!!!!’ almost a second ahead of them screaming ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!’.
It was epic yet fun.
This is while they were trying to light up the candle. (Look at one of the candles bowing down to the word ‘birthday’. BOW DOWN YOU!)

So it’s time for some cake cutting!
Well, it kind of reminds me about this childhood show I used to watch, yeah, don’t judge.

The cake was nice, other than we had a little complain on the sourness of the fruit.
I was really touched by them for turning up in almost full force (It’s always Andrew and Kayven missing) to help me celebrate my birthday early! I just feel so blessed to clique with them since Sec 3. They will always be my top most favourite bunch of peeps (even though we may quarrel lah but you know we one day quarrel, next time see each other again forget everything).
We played some games which I think I used to play in some camps (not sure is orientation camps or what) before we head out for dinner together!

After taking the photos, massive spams of photos, we went for our dinner at the nearby tze char stall because going to somewhere near Weihao’s house to take a walk around the pasar malam. I LOVE PASAR MALAM!

While the rest went home at the end of the day, Chen Yu, Junwei and Adam, who joined us for pasar malam after his work, returned back to my house. Junwei continued with his Econs, Adam just slack around while Chen Yu and I tried to finish our song and send it in before the deadline, and of course we managed to get it send in 2 minutes before 2359hrs. (HENG SIA)

Very attentive. Much focus. Many seriousness.

As I end this post, I would like to reiterate how much I am thankful for the surprise you’ve done for me and you all just have to remember: I will always love you all no matter what happens, 3 years as a clique and still so bonded shows that our friendships are so strong that nothing can seem to break us apart. You all are one of my favourite bunch of people, and trust me, I will do anything just to keep us all together, at least in contact for the years to come. Thank you for making my night, the night before I return back to school for a brand new semester.

From Tumblr To Reality: Happy 18th, Wanz

(In the mist of all the plagiarism thing going on because of some blogger, I need to credit the term ‘My One and Only Wanz’ to Yap Qi, because it first appeared on her Instagram HAHA!)
This small little girl is finally legal.
Few days back, Peishan created this Whatsapp group which included those of us who were rather close to Wanlin back in 13-1SR06. Peishan & Wanlin were like, I don’t really know how to describe but, they were the one who can plan really extreme surprises for each other. (Uh-huh, I experienced the birthday surprise for Peishan planned by Wanz last year which really caught Peishan by surprise.)
Here’s the plan: To create a tumblr-inspired wall with fairy lights and polaroids at her house while she was being distracted (or I should say, jio-ed out of her house) by Peishan and Charmaine.
Yea. Something like that.
It sounds like a really big project, at least it is to me. I’ve never really tried surprising my friends during their birthday to that extend.
You know their friendship is real. (Not saying my friendship with all my friends are not real. I treasure at my friendships. Just that, well, guys being guys, you know. We are not as thoughtful as the girls you see. HAHA ^^)
Anyway, so I’d been looking forward to this day where I can get to see those tumblr wall being done up right in front of me, in reality.
And the day finally came. I was tasked to buy all the materials since the rest of the girls had school in the morning till 4pm. For a moment, I almost have no idea where to buy fairy light. No wait, it was much worse, I don’t know what fairy lights are. But thank God for Google, I finally knew that fairy lights are those kinds of lights we put during Chinese New Year at my house. Well, that’s kind of something new I learnt.
And thanks to my conversation with Elyssa, I decided to head down to Spotlight and finally was able to get hold to a packet of 100 fairy lights. That was blessed.
So after getting everything, not to not mention the 3 helium balloons in which one of them got deflated on the way due to I-don’t-know-the-reason-why, I had to meet them outside school. It’s kind of awkward waiting just outside my ex-school which I withdrew from, and to think the possibility of acquaintances recognising me. I mean with my shades and my dressing, I look like some pedophile waiting impatiently for his prey.
Anyway, they came out quite soon to spare me from all the awkwardness.
And then, I looked like a pimp. That’s what they all said.
Peishan and Charmaine went to meet Wanz at nex while the rest of us headed down to Wanlin’s house to do the preparations.
Michelle, Dom, Yap Qi, Vivian and I tried our best to locate her house.
Thank God we got the correct place, despite dropping off at the wrong stop. :’D
It took us quite a while to finish up what we wanted to do. When we were ready, the other girls were on their way back.
So, we tried to hide. And I hid under a bed, which we thought to be Wanlin’s (We eventually got to realised we’ve been mistaken her sis’s bed for her bed throughout the entire day). It was not easy, given my not-so-slim waistline, my hips was just in contact with the reverse side of the bed frame. I tried my best to manoeuvre around to make myself comfortable and I did, thanks to my agility and flexibility. But then, how I am going to make my way out in time. I shouted,

“Eh, if I don’t get out in time, don’t mention me. That could the 2nd surprise.”

Oh dear me.
The entire room turned silent the moment the sounds from the unlocking of the locks were heard. I was under the bed, not a vacuum. As long as I could feel that the door was being pushed opened, three familiar sounds of different frequencies travelled into the room we were in, and then to under the bed.
I gasped, trying to grab the last bit of oxygen before I died of anoxemia.
Peishan was hurrying Wanlin to show her her room and the sounds just got closer and closer. We knew the moment is coming. At that moment, I was still trying to figure out how I am suppose to get out from under the bed in time to give her the surprise.
She pushed open her bedroom door which we purposely left adjacent.
I could hear the footsteps before everything went silent again.
“Oh my God.”
Wanlin stood just in front of her bed, shocked from the decoration in front of her.



Not that I wanted to praise all of us, but we indeed did a great job. I mean, wow. It’s so damn pretty. The lights and the balloons made her room seems like it was projected out from a laptop on a Tumblr page.
Everyone came out from where they were hiding and the room flooded with birthday wishes and of course, birthday song.
While I managed out under the bed but still hiding in between two of the beds. I was thinking of appearing as if I teleported out from under the bed (I know I sounded so sci-fi but ehhh, it makes sense can).
Peishan ruined for me. “Eddy, come out already lah!” :’D HAHAHA
I knocked my head on the table which on top of that was two alcohol glasses — one empty and the other one filled with hoegaarten.
Everyone felt the pain for me.
I came out, trying to look like I had actually teleported here. I tried to look stupid.
Wanlin claimed to have suspected something because ‘Peishan cannot lie’.
I tried my best not to laugh but HAHAHAHA

And then, after that, Peishan led her out because she got a video to show her.

I swear the funny parts were on how the screen just froze when she pointed the middle finger at me when I said something damn asshole.

Sometimes I really think I deserve a punch, not just 2 middle fingers.
At the help of Wanlin’s dad, we took a group photo in the room, of course, with Nicole.

The entire house was filled with noises for the past few hours. I guess I should apologise to her dad and her neighbours for the chaos we’ve made. :’D

Happy Birthday, Fang

Another of us has reached the rather special and significant age of 18, before I do.
Two day ago, 24 September, Weifang finally reached 18 and that means, that little girl is finally legal to do almost everything she wants. I really wondered how one feels the moment the clock hits 12 in the midnight on the day of your birthday.
Well, it won’t take me long enough to figure out.
Nevertheless, we decided to plan a surprise for her by getting almost everyone from Pedoro to head down for a tze-char dinner that evening.
Of course, the preparation of the surprise package came way before. Meiqi did the card and I still remembered her bringing the card to my house for Junwei & I to write our wishes last Saturday.
And then, on the day itself, I met up with Pang, Yujing and Weihao after my filming (yep, I went to help to act in another Year 2’s production). We got gifts for Fang before we realised we are a bit too early (we finished with our stuffs at around 4.30pm while the entire clique was to meet up at 7pm). What to do? We just head down to Pang’s house to lepak.
And to wrap the gift.

Weihao and Yujing trying to figure out how to wrap the present with the only tape available — duct tape, and it was running out.
While Pang was on his bed playing his guitar, while I just literally lepak-ed.
We stayed there for about an hour before we left his place for AMK Hub.
I am not going into details on how all of us eventually met up and what happened along the way, I could only remember Yujing and I went down to get the birthday cake while the rest heads to the meeting point.
Like what happened during Pang’s birthday, we went to this tze-char store opposite AMK Hub while Yujing and I sneak from behind to present the birthday girl with the birthday cake and of course, bags of presents.
You should see how epic it is when almost all the candles on the cake were all on the verge of going off one after the other.
At least I managed to save one from going off, but it still went off eventually. ._.

I just took a side-view of Pang because he was just right there, beside me. He was complaining how the flash light almost blinded him with every single shot I took. ๐Ÿ˜›
Before we called for the bill, we tried to play a game of ‘The Price Is Right’.
I can’t remember who got the closest answer.
But it was epic shit. Someone even went to the extent to predict that the 5-dish meal cost over a S$100. Of course, I could breathe better when the bill came, showing that it didn’t cross into the three-figure horror.
About $10 per person, it made sense.
So after that, we went to the top level of AMK Hub to slacken a bit.
Yes. We just wandered somewhere outside the exits of the movie theaters.
I needed some place so that we can take polaroids, Fang loves polaroids. So I decided to give her polaroids as one of the presents. I find it a must to have your very own set of polaroids that you take with your friends and then hang them up in your room. Polaroids represents memories, you know.

But before that, just as we put down our bags…

The girls starts playing er… what do you call that… merry-go-round? They just look so happy here. So, for those of you who are having a bad day, that a look at these two photos, or probably the next…

The guys were just standing in an orderly straight row, looking like some inmates on death row waiting to be executed (The only difference is that they are still having the smile on their faces compared to the inmates).

Ohya, I need to give a special mention to these two… Who had been fighting since the start of the day… Hmm…
Before we even go into the process of taking polaroids, we decided to take some group shots with the camera first. I mean, no one is going to be there to help the entire group of us to take polaroids…
I kind of love this shot but not sure why, I looked kind of out of place here. :O

Being anal about photos, you see that the guys are being blocked and that somewhat almost ruined the photo… But hey, that makes the facepalm seems much more significant. Oops. ๐Ÿ˜›

By the time we decided to head off for home, it’s around 10pm. And the downpour was still rather heavy as I walked out of the mall with Junwei and Chen Yu.
It was probably my happiest day with my favourite and closest bunch of peeps this year because it’s the day I finally see them all smile, ever so brightly that it affects my mood. It makes me so elated. I know, very clearly in my heart, as long as they are truly happy, as long as they smile, as long as all of us are still together, I will be a happy man.

Bunch of Morons Trying To Be Step

Celebrating a birthday so belated but it can be as fun as celebrating a birthday exactly on the day itself.

So I was at Hot Tomato in 313@Somerset to have a lunch with my AMKSS Drama Club darlings (or in our own term: Bunch of Morons): Kaihao, Tricia, Tan Ting and Audrey yesterday. And also to give Tricia a really belated birthday surprise (Her birthday was actually last week hehe).
We had our lunch first, talking about how the Drama Club is operating right now. Suddenly everything sounds like an informal General Meeting between the graduated seniors and the juniors. Kaihao and I were the graduating batch 2 years ago, but I was the one who came into Drama Club the earliest among them all. Kaihao joined when we were Sec 3 (?). Not sure if that makes me be counted as the ‘Old Guard’ of the club. 2 years, and as far as I could remember, I only returned once. And disappeared forever. Legends are meant to be gone forever when they leave (HAHAHA, jkjk!)
As for Tricia, she was a year younger than me. And was the President of the club the moment my batch steps down. She graduated last year and now studies in my former Junior College, Serangoon JC. It comes no surprise that she’s doing way better than me when I was in JC1 last year. *Claps!* 
Audrey and Tan Ting are the current batch of Sec 4s. Yep, if you can realised, they are 2 years younger than me. Tan Ting has been my daughter since I dont even know when (I know I am really a fatherly figure ^^). Audrey is like the ไธ€ๅง of the Drama Club (I mean like how Fann Wong is to MediaCorp). Ohya, they were the previous President & Vice-President of the club, taking over the control right after Tricia’s batch steps down. It’s really pleasing to hear that they were actually the one who kept the club going after the seniors left. 
No one would really want to hear my honest critic on the club right now.
OKOK. Let’s stop all these very long paragraphs of words. All I wanted to do was to introduce them. Seems like I’ve typed a bit too much hehe! Oops :’D
So when we were more or less finished with our lunch, the waiter brings in the cake. 
Really need to thank Tan Ting and Audrey for making the cake the day before. I was there with them at Tan Ting’s house while they were making the cake though, but I didn’t help out much. Baking’s not my kind of thing though, I prefer cooking. You know what I mean. HAHAHA!
EH~ But I made the card!!!!!!!!! I don’t usually make cards because I am not an art and craft person (that’s the reason why Adobe’s my really good friend you see :P). 
I think not bad only uh.

After everything, we wanted to go somewhere nice to take photo, so I suggested this bridge at Orchard Central. I like that bridge because the pillars are white and there are just adequate amount of lighting coming in to make it a really nice place to take nice photos.

After an afternoon of fun, we have to leave, because the rest needs to study. I’ve been looking forward to this day since like few weeks ago and it didn’t pretty much disappoints! It had really been a pleasure hanging out with this bunch of morons and take step photos together.

Eh eh, if you all are reading this, December. We will meet again in December.

Tricia, all the best for your Promos! You will definitely be promoted to Year 2, just need to keep your composure and study hard! You’ve got way more potential than me to succeed in SRJC!
Tan Ting, my dear, all the best for your O Level! Though dardie didn’t get a chance to treat you sushi meal, I will treat you after your exams can?
Audrey, I know you are from through-train, means your major exam will only be next year. But all the best to your EOY. Study hard please, anything dont know come ask me or smart guy Kaihao.
